‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ trailer features Luke Skywalker’s father, Leia, and other key characters from the original trilogy

A new trailer for Star Wars: the Last Jedi has revealed that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will be the son of Han Solo (John Boyega) and Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher).

In the trailer, the former’s father is seen looking out over the Imperial capital.

It also reveals that Luke will be a leader, with Leia calling on him to “fight” on the side of the Resistance.

“Star Wars is about the people,” Hamill told reporters in London.

“You don’t need a whole galaxy to know that.”

Luke’s parents are also shown meeting Han Solo’s daughter, Leia.

“She’s really pretty,” Leia says to Han, as the two walk through the park.

Han is then seen holding Leia, telling her “I love you,” as they walk to a bar.

“I think we’ll be okay,” Leia replies, before saying “I’m glad we can see you again soon.”

The scene was filmed in the UK and in New Zealand.

Star Wars producer Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly that the scene will allow fans to see a glimpse into Luke’s past.

“The last thing you want to do is tell a new generation of Luke Skywalker, who will be introduced in a big way in Star Wars Rebels: The Complete First Draft, how you and your family are doing,” Kennedy said.

“And as for the Leia line, well, we know she’s not going to be happy.

She’s been living in a cave, and she’s still not happy.

But she’ll get over it.”

“The Force is strong with Luke,” said actor Andy Serkis in a press release announcing the new trailer.

“He’s never been better equipped than he is now to deal with the challenges that he faces, and it will be exciting to see what he’ll discover.

Luke will also be faced with the most complex and powerful enemies of his life, the very people he has helped in the past to protect.

He will have to make difficult decisions and find a balance between his love for the galaxy and his need to keep the peace.

We are all very excited to see how Luke will grow and the things he will do with his newfound powers.”

“This is the last chapter of a great saga,” director Rian Johnson said in the release.

“We’ve been so lucky to have so many fans and so many of you on board.

I can’t wait to share more adventures in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Wars, Star Trek Online, and Star Wars Battlefront.

Stay tuned!”
